Soraia Ramos was born in Portugal to a Cape Verdean family and lived in Arrentela until she was 15, before her family moved to France and later to Switzerland. This life between countries is reflected in her music.

She gained national visibility in 2015 on The Voice Portugal, where she showcased her vocal range to a much wider audience. From there, she built her own unique style, blending kizomba, R&B, and afrobeat, with Whitney Houston and Cesária Évora as acknowledged influences—sensitive lyrics, powerful vocals, and a constant connection to Cape Verdean culture.

Before her debut album, she had already achieved hits like "O Nosso Amor" and "Meu Marido". In 2023, she released "Cocktail," published by Universal: over 30 million streams and collaborations with Apollo G, Carolina Deslandes, and Nenny, in an album that greatly expanded her reach beyond the Lusophone music scene.

“Nha Terra” and “BKBN” continue to be her most viewed tracks on YouTube and calling cards for an artist who has made promoting Cape Verdean culture a mission.
