BIO
Nilo de Campos Froelich is from the Rio Pequeno neighborhood in the West Zone of São Paulo, and is one of the most recognizable names in the new wave of Brazilian funk and urban music.
Before music, he was a footballer. He played for the youth teams of São Paulo Futebol Clube and Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras and was considered a promising player in São Paulo football, but at 16 he decided to leave the sport to dedicate himself entirely to music.
He has been releasing songs since 2022, in a style that blends funk with pop melodies and very direct lyrics. The definitive leap came with "Fui Mlk," alongside MC Paiva, in November 2024: it quickly entered the charts and remained at the top of the Billboard Brasil Hot 100 for weeks.
"Sorrisin de Puto" is another song that solidified his popularity with younger audiences. In interviews, Nilo makes a point of separating the womanizing persona in his lyrics from the person he is offstage—a distinction that has become part of his artistic identity.
