Buruntuma — also the name of a village in Guinea-Bissau — is a dynamic DJ and producer prominent in Portugal's Afro House scene. Like a modern griot, his music carries narrative, cultural memory, and ancestral tradition through electronic rhythms.

International recognition arrived in 2014 when his remix of Super Mama Djombo's "Sol Maior Para o Comandante" was featured in THE FADER, followed by the success of "The End" (2020) with Missy Bity. He has performed in renowned venues across Europe — Gretchen (Berlin), Djoon (Paris), Paradiso (Amsterdam) — and festivals such as Fusion, Womex, and Africa Nouveau. In 2023, he joined Dino D'Santiago on "Longe," fusing Cape Verdean and Guinean influences with Afro House.
