DJ DADDA
DJ DADDA is one of the most influential figures of Portugal’s new urban music wave. Born and raised within the sound system and dancehall culture, he began his journey with Rastafire Sound before establishing himself as a producer and a key member of Bridgetown.
With a career spanning over a decade, Dadda has performed on many of the country’s biggest stages and clubs, earning a reputation as one of the most versatile and respected DJs in the scene. His musical curation has also reached the airwaves — after hosting his own show on Onda FM at MEO Sudoeste, he now leads the Bridgetown Radio Show on Mega Hits, where he continues to explore the bridge between urban, afro, and electronic music.
His debut single, “Cafeína”, marks a new chapter in his artistic journey. Featuring Plutonio and co-produced by Mr. Marley, the track — accompanied by a music video directed by Pluma & Pedro Dias — celebrates a global and multicultural Lisbon, blending afro trap, bass music and dancehall influences.
Dadda describes this transition from the DJ booth to the studio as a natural evolution. “I reached a point where I felt I couldn’t grow only as a DJ — I needed to contribute something more,” he shares. A perfectionist with a refined ear, Dadda views production as a way to inspire those who inspire him, crafting beats that challenge both artists and audiences.
A frequent stage partner of Plutonio and Lord XIV, Dadda is also a constant presence behind the scenes at Bridgetown, collaborating closely with the label’s artists and helping shape the sound that defines a generation. His debut album, set for release later this year, promises to merge the energy of sound system culture with the modern pulse of hip hop and Afro-Lusophone music.
More than just a DJ or producer, DJ DADDA is a storyteller through rhythm — an artist who channels the streets, cultural fusion, and creative freedom that have always defined Bridgetown’s spirit.
