XIV.KTORZE

Lord XIV is a Cape Verdean artist born in Cascais, whose identity is shaped by life between Portugal, France, and England — a true cultural fusion reflected in both his music and visual style. Rapper, fashion icon, and polyglot, he is one of the latest signings of Bridgetown, standing out as one of the most authentic and versatile voices of the new Lusophone generation.

His connection to music began early, inspired by his grandmother — a central figure in his life and artistic upbringing. She instilled in him a deep love for African sounds, from funaná to other rhythms of the Lusophone world, forming the foundation he now blends with urban influences from London and Paris. “My roots are in Cape Verde, but France and England also helped shape me,” he shares.

In the studio, Lord’s creative process is guided by instinct and emotion. “The music tells me what it needs from me,” he explains, describing an organic approach where the sound leads the way and inspires both his lyrics and the visual concepts of his videos. This authenticity and creative freedom were further strengthened by joining Bridgetown, which he describes as a family that supports and challenges him to grow while staying true to himself.

More than a rapper, Lord XIV is a multifaceted artist. Fashion is, for him, an extension of his art and a form of personal expression. Known for his bold looks and confident style, he sees clothing as a means to inspire others to embrace who they are. “I love clothes because fashion is a different form of art — a vehicle for expression,” he says.

Inspired by icons such as Pharrell Williams, Lord blends music and fashion with rare naturalness, breaking cultural and aesthetic boundaries. In a short time, he has won over audiences and critics with his energy, authenticity, and artistic vision, becoming a rising reference in the Portuguese rap and urban scene.
Today, Lord XIV is entering a new chapter of his career — more introspective, mature, and loyal to his roots. “I’m developing a new sound that aligns purely with who I am,” he says. A journey of self-discovery that continues to bloom between the African soul that shaped him and the European experiences that refined him.
